Can I buy equipment or build infrastructure with the grant?
Yes, but the project must go beyond that. You also have to think about how the project will live once you have the equipment or once it is built. A part of the project budget must be used for that!
I have a project in mind but I haven't found an adult 22+ who can endorse me?
We encourage you to talk to a few people in your family or school about your project, such as teachers or coaches. You can also contact your local youth centre to see if the animation team would be willing to accompany you (you can find their contact information here). They may want to endorse you themselves or they may be able to help you find another adult who is interested in supporting you. If after a few attempts, you still haven't found one, email us at info@action104.com with the subject line "Looking for an Adult Supporter". We can then match you with a professional who will become the 22+ person who will endorse your project!
Is it possible to have several people aged 22 and over involved in the project?
There may be other adults contributing to the project, but we would like to have one adult supporter who will act as a sponsor.
What does that mean: the project must be driven primarily by one or more people 21 and under?
We are aware that some projects cannot be entirely led from start to finish by people 21 and under alone and that the contribution of adults is necessary. However, it is the responsibility of the adults involved to leave a lot of room for the participants' autonomy (initiative, taking actions and decisions, etc.) without doing everything for them. When qualifying projects, we will make sure to discuss this with the person aged 22 and over who is endorsing the project.
How and when will the cash award be given?
The person 22 years of age or older who supports and endorses the project will receive a credit card. You will be able to organize with him or her to make the necessary purchases for your project. Part of the amount available on the credit card will be disbursed as your project progresses.
How and with whom should I present my project if I am selected?
You will have to present your project to a member of the advisory committee as well as a mentor. The purpose of this presentation is simply to get to know each other and discuss your project and its realization.
What support will be provided to project teams?
We will have mentors who will be there to advise and guide you throughout the project! The mentor is therefore a complementary resource to the adult sponsor and the level of support offered will vary according to the project and the needs of each person!
Can the person who is 22 or older and endorses the project help me fill out the project application form?
Of course they can! But the goal is for you to be able to do it on your own as much as possible. The adult is there to give you support only! If your project is selected, you are the only one who will have to present it!
I'm not sure I understand what an action plan is?
Here is a method to build your action plan. The purpose of the action plan is to help you plan what you will need to do to achieve your project. It should be simple and concise. You don't have to follow our method, it's a tool that we make available to you only if needed!
